Operator information and training
Half day course providing information and training to help operators safely use UV light equipment for their particular application and gain their confidence and acceptance. It will also help employers meet their obligations for the safe use of UV light in the workplace under the New Control of Artificial Optical Radiation at Work Regulations 2010.
The Regulations define the following:
- Statutory UV light exposure limit values (ELVs)
- Minimum health and safety requirements for protection of workers from risks arising or likely to arise from artificial UV light exposure
- Employers must determine personal UV light exposure levels and compare with the ELVs as a means of assessing risk and necessary controls
- Workers should not be exposed above the ELVs and must be provided with specific information and training
